THE FUTURE IS DIGITAL

INTERNET = OPPORTUNITY

We are a youth-led and youth-run organization focused on quality education and livelihood development for the  rural communities

THE DIGITAL VOID

As the internet is rapidly becoming fundamental towards the making of an equitable society, India today stands at an inflection point. How we resolve this gap depends largely on our abilities to digitally literate rural India and provide equal opportunities.

THE STORY  OF LAKSHMI

When we first met Lakshmi, a young bubbly girl, she could not stop complaining about how her family has lost most of their savings over a spam call. We heard similar such incidents in Lakshmi’s neighbourhood. This neighbourhood precariously balances itself on the paradox of modernity where every family owns one smartphone, but nobody is quite sure how to navigate the complex world of the internet.

JANA PRAGATI UDYOG

To cater to the information starved corners of the country, our Jana Pragati Udyog (digital hubs) believe in providing unrestricted digital access to knowledge along with network support and provisions of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The JPUs are a major step taken by Advaita Bodhi towards skill development and capacity building and hence they are a crucial vehicle in achieving the visions of Digital India.

WHAT'S NEW AT ADVAITA BODHI

A DIGITAL HUB EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE VULNERABLE TRIBE OF BENGAL

Lodha tribe has a long history of oppression against them. Reports say they practiced cannibalism a few decades ago. We have built 'Braja Bihari Das Jana Pragati Udyog', a dedicated digital hub, to train digital skills as well as healthy, hygiene, nutrition to this tribal community in Jhargram district of West Bengal.

ENHANCED ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

The structure of elementary education in India barely ignites the minds of the little ones who flock to these schools. Their only incentive is the mid-day meal that is served in these schools. Or in worst cases the rural parts of India do not even have elementary schools. So, among its various initiatives, Advaita Bodhi also takes up to impart education to the young minds at elementary level through its e-learning programs.

CAREER GUIDANCE FOR RURAL INDIA

While India is busy producing graduates with uniform degrees, the rate of rural unemployment keeps on increasing. Rural students do not just need education, they need the proper type of education that would bring them into mainstream organised sector.  Navigating the problem of early marriages and families financial struggles, rural youths need employment-driven academic skills.
