Traveling to Jhargram district in the border of Bengal and Jharkhand, we digitized the way tribal people do business
This is where digital intervention can really help. We conducted a one-day workshop to demonstrate how ecommerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart can help them sell directly and to a wider range of audience. Almost 30% of women in this community own a smartphone. We will initially train these women to sell through smartphones and also help their neighbour ladies who don’t have phones. We would start the first batch once we have access to funds to have skilled trainers conduct the classes. They would be trained on basic English, competitive pricing, digital marketing and selling online. This would effectively open a new window of opportunities to this otherwise deprived community.
